Raw Juice Link Up presents » Mike G
Mix and Q&A Session:

Tell us about yourself; who are you, where are you from, what do you do?
My name is Mike Gorman. I’m from Los Angeles, CA but currently live just north of the city. I am a bass music producer and DJ. I also co-host the Seismic Imports radio show on RWD.FM every thursday from 11pm - 1am UK time.
How long have you been producing & DJing?
Djing for 6 years now and only producing seriously for about 8 months or so. I’ve always been into music though, playing in bands most of my life before I got into electronic music.
What is your favorite piece of studio equipment?
Haha don’t have much of a studio so to speak. Just my laptop and midi controller!
What are your musical influences and where do you get your inspiration from?
WelI I’d say hip hop has a big influence on my sound, but I get inspiration from all kinds of stuff like even pop music sometimes. I just watched a documentary about Black Metal and even got some cool ideas from that. I don’t know, just kinda what I feel at the moment. I was really feelin’ the housey stuff before and then was on a juke and trap kick. I just kind go through my different phases.
Do you have any forthcoming projects / releases ?
Yes! I have my ‘Boost Ep’ forthcoming on Car Crash Set in the next couple months backed with remixes from DJ Sliink, Admin, and Bosstone. Also did a remix for Mak & Pasteman on Hot N Heavy. Then I’m working on an ep of some more experimental juke type stuff on Inna Riddim out of Australia and have a tune forthcoming on a BYRSLF promo comp sometime in the future.

What other producers do you feel at the moment?
Been supporting this dude Tony Quattro big time! He is making some killer tracks. I’ve really been vibing on that Pelican Fly sound like Mister Tweeks and Richelle, Lucid. I always play a lot of Sliink tunes. Absolutely obsessed with DJ Hoodcore and everything on Body High and Hot N Heavy. Admin and Mak & Pasteman have been doing some big things and, also been loving the Freshmore releases too.
What’s your five top tunes at the moment?
That’s tough but I’d say in no particular order
Mess Kid - sipslow DJ Hoodcore - 4LYFE Tony Quattro - Doubt Pasteman & Herobot - Off the Chain and Dj Sliink’s remix of my tune ‘Boost’ is just insane.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully still making music and touring more!!
Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Of course! I’m into like a certain horrible reality tv show. Have found myself liking some really bad pop music sometimes too. Like I really liked this Maroon 5 song once haha.

Raw Juice Link Up presents » Dj Hook
Mix and Q&A Session:

Tell us about yourself; who are you, where are you from, what do you do?
My name is Michael, but my stage name is “Dj Hook”. Im a 19 year old from a small town called Perth Amboy, in New Jersey in the United States. I’m a full time college student by day, and a DJ/Producer/Entrepreneur all other times outside of school.
How long have you been producing & DJing?
I’ve been djing for 3 years now, and producing music for roughly 2 years, and I’ve loved every second of my time I spent through producing and djing.
What is your favorite piece of studio equipment?
My favorite piece of “studio” equipment, even though I wouldn’t necessarily consider it exactly that, would be my Pioneer CDJ 900s. My pride and joy. My tools of destruction! Every time I place my hands on my CDJs, magic happens.
What are your musical influences and where do you get your inspiration from?
My musical influences aren’t necessarily “huge” names. I get inspired by artists who arise from the same general situations that I come from, and have made something out of themselves or are striving for success. Some of these people would include names such as Anthony Cardinale, Vinny Vice, Sliink, Nadus, DJ Sweat (who played a major effect on me getting into producing), and many more! Another major form of inspiration/motivation comes to me in the form of my family and closest friends. The ones who have been there with me since day 1! Also, whenever somebody from my city Perth Amboy , or anywhere else in general, tells me they love what I do, that inspires me to keep it up! As well as my teams are inspiration to me, from my promotion team “The New Generation”, to my production team “XF Productions”! Every little bit helps!

Do you have any forthcoming projects / releases ?
I have a few projects in the works! I’m not going to necessarily put the info out just yet, but just know I am WORKING! I’m always trying to stay active whether it’s putting out remixes, or getting bookings!
What other producers do you feel at the moment?
Producers that I enjoy listening to their music are producers such as Nadus, Sliink, Snapp, Jahlil Beats, Bosstone, J-Trick, JWLS, Alvaro, and so many more. Basically who ever is putting out great quality music!
What’s your five top tunes at the moment?
Honestly it’s REALLY hard to choose my top 5 favorite songs at the moment. Like I mentioned above anything thats put out there thats great quality and sounds good, I enjoy. But if i HAD to choose it would probably be something like this (in no specific order) : Crew Love Remix - Sliink x Spaz Faded Instrumental - Snapp Lights Down Low - Bei Maejor Planet X - Vinny Vice Inspector Gadget - Alvaro
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years it’s hard to say. Where I HOPE to be is touring not only nationally, but internationally as well. Between United States and Europe, to Canada, wherever they love good music. My goal is to share my music with the world and just bring smiles to music lovers all over.
