Bristol head Orphan101 made a great mix for this weeks “BassMusic Mix”- series on BassmusicBlog. Rob Davies aka Orphan101 mainly produce what he likes to call “Dupstep based minimal techno”. His upcoming release is being released on a new label, a Boka Records off-shoot called Saigon Recordings. This release is said to be “an epic two-part trip through heavy dub techno”, so we’re looking forward to be hearing that soon. He also got another release to follow on Applepips, so big things are gonna be happening for this guy this year.

Here’s one for all the Grime-heads all over! Our good friends over at Bassmusicblog made Tomb Crew make the 10th installment in the Bass Music Mix-series. Tomb Crew (that has been making massive noise the last year) started out playing a lot of grime, so Bassmusicblog asked them to put together a great mix of classic grime tracks! A new installment in the “We make it good” mix-series hit the net not too long ago. This time it is Salems’ turn to “make it good” and the mix is like you would expect from them. It could easily be described with the words: foggy, distorted vocals, drums snapping underneath anything, vocals screwed and slowed into Jello mulch. With other words a slow, deep and dark mix that probably fits sundays the best, but yet again like everybody else is saying: “It’s either the perfect accompaniment to the fall/winter blues or soundtrack to scrawling your name on your bedroom wall in blood, it’s up to you”.
