Mindflow is 24 year old Marius G. Mevold, based in Trondheim, Norway. Growing up in a small place, he found himself alone in the passion for electronic music. Discovering drum & bass when hearing Adam F and Teebee tracks on national radio in the late nineties, he instantly knew that this was the music meant for him. He learned more about the genre and was fascinated by the whole drum & bass scene and culture. Amazed by the energy the music created, he gradually wanted to learn how to produce electronic music, and started dabbling with various software.
Wanting to take production more seriously, he moved to Bergen in 2004 and took a year long sound & music production course, where he met dj’s and producers with the same interests as himself. Moving to Trondheim in 2006 for new studies,he made new acquaintances within the scene, mainly through the nightclub Supa. Allthough he was excited by the small but dedicated scene in the city, he didn’t produce much at this time, and felt he needed a new approach to producing.
Then he got sucked into the dubstep scene.
While still loving drum & bass, dubstep brought much of the same production values, but with a fresh vibe. Inspired by this, he entered a remix competition by the german label Dubstep Division Recordings, in late 2007. The remix was his first finished dubstep track ever, and it ended up winning the contest, scoring him his first official digital release early 2008.
After the release he has given out several free tunes and bootlegs, getting great response. Teaming up with Raw Juice in 2009, and getting airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 1Xtra things are looking bright for the future. GET RAW!
