Chad B – Hit It

by IzziAndNizzi | August 18, 2010 | In Other No Comments

Nice video of Chad B’s “Hit It”, showing of Jersey’s club music and dance-style!

Here is a fresh mix from our US friends Dev79 and Thrills.
These cats are on some serious bizness, coming together from Philly to Seattle to brew up their special blend of bass n’ riddims. Fresh to ya ears and unforgiving to ya ass, these boys take charge of the sound and deliver it live n’ direct. After teaming up for a couple collab remixes (SDUK’s “Clunge” out now on Slit Jockey Records and DmnDays ft. Whiskey Pete & Julz “Coming Through Smashing” out soon on Sub Philo Music), Dev79 and Thrills seemed to be on a roll and have a collab EP of all original tracks underway as well as more remixes bubblin’. To further cement the fact that this duo ain’t pulling punches, they are ready to jump off a West Coast tour together – which is sure to set clubs on fire and raise the sales of the morning after pill.

Since all eyes are locked in at South Africa nowadays, we wanted to present some of the great club-music South Africa ( and Africa in general) has to offer at the moment!

DJ Zhao has compiled an incredible mixtape of African and African-inspired dance music called “Ukulwa”. ““Ukulwa” translates to “war” in Zulu, and rather than divorcing diverse sounds such as kwaito and kuduro from their political context, he weaves the tape together with samples of people praising Mandela and giving empowering paeans to freedom, ensuring that even as we dance, we remember what we’re celebrating. In Zhao’s own words: “South Africa is surely rising as a proud modern nation, even as we rejoice in these blissful rhythms, we must remember this war, and both continue, and continue to be inspired by, this struggle against domination, against injustice.””

Also throwing in a mix featuring more South African Kwaito music, by Moroka (the newest member of The Secousse Sound System from London). This mix contains older and newer Kwaito and it’s a good one! (Perfect soundtrack for the World Cup)

Download it here: Moroka – Secousse SA House Kwaito Mix (Hotfile)

Also throwing in an oldie, but a goldie/ Kwaito Classic. Enjoy! Africa FTW!

The purple w0w sound is now a global phenomenon – with Joker, Guido and Gemmy (aka ‘The Purple Trinity’) on the cusp of becoming household names, Earwax is proud to present this enormous release from man like Gemmy.

‘Maroon Chant’ and ‘Last 3 Digits’ are both expertly tailored for maximum dancefloor impact, guaranteed to cause a stir in the dance.
