Our good friend and Raw Juice affiliate Chmmr just released his first 12″ on Luna Flicks records. This great release includes the tracks “Love will lead u back” and “Man” on the B-side. Picadilly Records drops a pretty good description and review of the tracks where they say that:
“This might not be the most anticipated record release of the year, but what it does, it does better than most, and is sure to find a place in you heart and DJ box. Aimed straight at the dancefloor, this is a simple 1988 Italo-style piano house monster, except with a slight Italo disco edge to it (that’ll be the Bobby ‘O’ style electronic percussion). Nice bass note changes and plenty of breakdowns make sure this will have the floor rocking. I predict anthem status is just round the corner! While “Love Will Lead U Back” will works its charms at a peak-time, flipside cut “Man” on the other hand, is a stripped-down early morning cut for when the crowd has thinned out and the sun’s coming up. From the badass bassline, scatty drums, to the wierdo synth and massive piano line that’ll take the roof off, this one rocks it just as much as the A-side. Recommended!”

Now something for all the Simian Mobile Disco fans out there! Simian Mobile Disco / SMD had the honour of doing the decades’ first Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. The mix has been described as “Deep, dirty and devastating” by some and Jas & James in SMD flexes their techno muscles, as well as some dubstep and electro muscles on this week’s Essential Mix! Also be on the look out for some new tracks from Simian in this mix. Enjoooy!
It’s time for another installment in Mishka’s great “Keep Watch” mix-series, and here’s what Mishka has to say about the new mix:
“Crookers has been touring nonstop, smashing all the international fests and bustin’ out the best dance music out right now. Alongside other Italians such as Congorock, The Bloody Beetroots, Nic Sarno and His Majesty Andre Crookers have been strong-arming dance floors and waving the red, white and green bass flag high. In this mix expect the unexpected going deep into some glitchy and dubby vibes. The mix starts out with sounds from Hudson Mohawke, Joker and Untold and finishes off with some war riddims courtesy of Kingdom and Alter Ego. Elaborating too much would be ruining this amazing mix. Just listen to it. This is the future of the Italian sound in one word and 43 minutes.” So there you have it!
Our man Dj Tameil just released “The Brick Bandits - Go Hard Left Field CD” which is mixed by himself. Dj Tameil had this statement regarding the mix: “The Brick Bandits Family is Global… so dont expect this cd to be your ordinary “Hood Tracks”. We love and appreciate all of our fans worldwide and this is for you! Enjoy! ” Here it is:
