Krissy Peers aka Melé is a young producer and dj from merseyside, uk. He started djing and producing when he was just 13 years old and 2010 is sure too see him come into his own. From being Toddla T’s one to watch for 2010 on Radio 1, to an EP out on Sinden’s new imprint, to being charted by Brodinski and big remix’es for New Young Pony Club & The Count & Sinden, its set too be a big year. Always floating between house, dubstep, funky and garage in both his dj sets and productions, means everything he’s doing at the moment is energy filled and exciting.

He has just released a track that was supposed to be on his forthcoming EP, but he ended up coming with some stronger tracks! So here is a free tune from Mele’

Now go on over to his myspace and check out his other tunes and show him some love.

Today the free album by Baobinga & I.D called ‘Bass Music Sessions’ is released on label.bassmusicblog.com for FREE. The tracks range from the chunky house of ‘BackFoot’, played out by the likes of Claude Von Stroke and Julio Bashmore, through the post-dubstep sway of ‘Hither & Thither’, which has been picked up by Untold and Ben UFO, the dirty-South inspired dubstep of ‘Still Tippin’, – on rotation with Mensah and Hyetal, kuduro influenced ‘Man Down’ (play from TRG, Buraka Som Sistema etc) and the massive DnB smasher ‘The King’, which has been played out by DJ Friction, DJ Die and more. So you can be sure it’s good!
The album will be released on a ‘pay what you want’ basis, although gaining cash isn’t really the aim, so any money it does accrue will be donated to Dove House Hospice in Hull, UK.

Orphan101 – BassMusic Mix 18

by admin | February 25, 2010 | In Other No Comments

Bristol head Orphan101 made a great mix for this weeks “BassMusic Mix”- series on BassmusicBlog. Rob Davies aka Orphan101 mainly produce what he likes to call “Dupstep based minimal techno”. His upcoming release is being released on a new label, a Boka Records off-shoot called Saigon Recordings. This release is said to be “an epic two-part trip through heavy dub techno”, so we’re looking forward to be hearing that soon. He also got another release to follow on Applepips, so big things are gonna be happening for this guy this year.

This is a great mix so be sure to check it out, and stop by our friends over at BassMusicBlog if you get the time!! Enjoy!

Our good friend and Raw Juice affiliate Chmmr just released his first 12″ on Luna Flicks records. This great release includes the tracks “Love will lead u back”  and “Man” on the B-side. Picadilly Records drops a pretty good description and review of the tracks where they say that:

This might not be the most anticipated record release of the year, but what it does, it does better than most, and is sure to find a place in you heart and DJ box. Aimed straight at the dancefloor, this is a simple 1988 Italo-style piano house monster, except with a slight Italo disco edge to it (that’ll be the Bobby ‘O’ style electronic percussion). Nice bass note changes and plenty of breakdowns make sure this will have the floor rocking. I predict anthem status is just round the corner! While “Love Will Lead U Back” will works its charms at a peak-time, flipside cut “Man” on the other hand, is a stripped-down early morning cut for when the crowd has thinned out and the sun’s coming up. From the badass bassline, scatty drums, to the wierdo synth and massive piano line that’ll take the roof off, this one rocks it just as much as the A-side. Recommended!

So do like Picadilly Records and support Chmmr and Luna Flicks, by listening to and buying the release here
